Fear, anxiety and unusual activities and visitors can all pose threats to our pets during this holiday.
Here are some helpful tips to keep your dog safe and happy.
- Your pet may become frightened or spooked by loud or unusual sounds. On the other hand, he or she may want to run to play with kids or other pets. Keep your pet on a Fashion-Hound leash and away from the busy streets.
- Pets often want to taste candy but it is very harmful for your pet. In fact, chocolate can be toxic while other candies can cause digestive problems. Take some dog treats with you so he can get his own goodies.
- Make sure pets are wearing current Pet ID Tags. Many pets get spooked and escape with so many strange visitors to the home.
- If your dog doesn't like wearing costumes, don't force him. Even if he looks adorable, forcing the issue can result in bad behavior. But if he likes it, go for it!
What My Dogs HATE About Halloween:
- Doorbells
- Scary Costumes
- Screaming Kids
- Forbidden Treats
- Loud Music and Sound
Minimize your dogs exposure to these "scary" things and you will enjoy a safe and spooktacular Halloween this year!
